TCBY has never had a true hashgacha. However, many have relied on the fact that the mix used in the soft yogurt is under hashgacha. While it is better under such circumstances to ask the store to show you packaging of the mix (to assure that they are actually using the mix they claim to be using), one may be able to rely on the fact that they are, in fact, using the (kosher) company mix.

HOWEVER…. TCBY IS NO LONGER USING A KOSHER MIX FOR THEIR SOFT PRODUCTS. WE HAVE NO WAY TO RELY ON THE KASHRUT OF THE CURRENT MIX.

Please do not eat at TCBY unless this is issue is resolved.

Issue: Although most Pringles produced in the U.S. have been OU certified, Pringles Minis are not OU certified.

Important Notices:

We are pleased to announce that Patoug Restaurant located at 220-06 Horace Harding Expressway, in Bayside and Donuts Plus located at 71-32B Main Street, Kew Gardens Hills are now under the certification of the Vaad Harabonim of Queens.

L'Chaim Caterers located at 67-29 Main Street has been falsely advertising that they are certified by the Vaad Harabonim of Queens. Please be advised that they are not Vaad certified.

Coke will be introducing a new coke-coffee product called Coke Blak (sic). This product is DAIRY and is labeled OUD. Please be careful with this soda product and make others aware of the issue. Their most recent flavor Black Cherry Vanilla is pareve and should not be confused with Coke Blak.

Vitamuffin muffins bearing the KVH are dairy even without the dairy designation on the label. The ingredients are correctly listing butterfat.

Rold Gold Honey Wheat Pretzel Braids are OU certified. Company did not put OU on during initial product release and has yet to reprint their labels. The product has always been acceptable.

Tropicana Pure Premium 100% Ruby Red-Grapefruit Juice bearing the OK pareve is certified as kosher by the OK. (This is a refrigerated product). However, Tropicana Red Ruby Grapefruit Juice without the OK contains carmine and is not kosher. (This is a shelf-stable product.)

■We are pleased to announce that Dairy King located at 1564 Union Tpke. in New Hyde Park is now under the certification of the Vaad Harabonim of Queens.

Please be advised: Dairy King is no longer affiliated with Deli King which is not certified by the Vaad.

We welcome Dairy King to the family of Vaad certified establishments.

■Please be advised that the Vaad Harabonim Of Queens has withdrawn its kashrut supervision from Strawberry Cafe located at 72-28 Main Street in Kew Gardens Hills.

■Please be advised that the Vaad Harabonim of Queens has withdrawn its kashrus supervision from Great Neck Grill located at 613 Middle Neck Rd. in Great Neck.

■An unauthorized “COR 386” has been put on the following products:

        Trader Joe’s Chick Peas
        Trader Joe’s Black Beans
        Trader Joe’s Red Kidney Beans
These products are not kosher supervised.
