This extensive guide ( located below ) covers many of the practical issues facing the modern kosher consumer. It includes halachic discussions of Tevilat Keilim, cooking on Shabbat, kitchen appliances, cooking by non-Jews and more. Also included are extensive lists of acceptable kashrut certifications, local establishments and potentially problematic products.
This guide is intended only for members of our Shul and Rabbi Penner would actually discourage sharing the information contained within with friends and family from other communities. People are required to check with their own Rabbis to answer their halachic questions. The opinions contained herein are thus valid only for members of the Young Israel of Holliswood.
Be mindful that the manual and its condensed chapters were produced in 2004. There is a chapter listed in the "Entire Manual" named Vaad of Queens Establishments - you may be better served by clicking on the Vaad of Queens link below to see a more up to date list.
